Don't Be The Monkey On My Back

It's been a pretty long past few weeks, so I'm going to actually keep this entry short and sweet. Everyone makes mistakes and errors, it's a part of life. No one is perfect or ever will be. I can tell you right now that I have made tons of errors and mistakes in my life and I'm sure I'll probably make some more over time. We all learn something new on an everyday basis and one of the things that factor into it all is when we make the mistakes and errors we tend to make, the approach we take when it comes to correcting them to make sure that it never happens or occurs again. As long as you correct your "wrongs" and put yourself on a path to do better, there is no reason anyone should ever hold it against you. Afterall, a mistake occurs when one does something that they are unaware of that creates a bad situation, hurts someone, or does something detrimental. If you keep doing the same thing over and over and over, it then goes from being a "mistake" to becoming "intentional". Mistakes are a one time thing and as you grow and mature from them, you learn not to do them anymore and take the necessary steps to avoid it at all costs. Something that can really affect one's forward progress is when one holds your "past" and/or your "mistakes" against you. Like they don't allow you to move on with your life. It is something that can really hinder one's progress. No one likes to be reminded of something they have done wrong, especially when it is something they deeply regret and have really worked hard to fix. Constantly throwing it in their face or talking about it only can make things worse. So bottom line, either you give that person a chance at a clean slate and allow them to grow and show, or let them go. If you can't let their mistakes or errors go, don't sit there being the troll on their shoulder constantly reminding them of every little thing they have done wrong.
