WTF Is Wrong With You?!?

So, originally, I had planned out a completely different blog post for today, but after the events that occurred on Easter Sunday, I had to switch it up and put my focus elsewhere. So, for those of you who may be uninformed, A Cleveland native by the name of Steve Stephens went onto Facebook Live to rant about being upset over some crap about his mom and his girlfriend. Well, he didn't stop there. While still filming on Facebook Live, he went up to 74 year old Robert Godwin and shot and killed him for no reason. This man did absolutely nothing wrong other than being an innocent bystander at the wrong place at the wrong time. My heart goes out to Robert Godwin and his family because he did not deserve to leave this earth in this manner. Sadly, I think the thing that makes me the most upset next to the fact that this man died for no reason at all, is the fact that the Facebook Live video was shared across all social media platforms. You really have to be one sick in the head individual to sit there and watch a video of a 74 year old man being murdered in cold blood. This isn't a movie or TV show, this is real life. This man was killed and is never coming back. What kind of benefit are you receiving in watching this video? I can't even imagine watching this man, who was someone's grandfather, father, uncle, or friend, being killed in cold blood just to see it happen. I haven't seen it and I refuse to see it because there is no reason for me to watch it. I read all I needed to read in the story and I don't need the visual to go along with it. Now, I've spoke on the sadness of those who watch it, but what's worse is the "sharing" part. What are you sharing the video for? That honestly, is some really sick in the head stuff to sit there and make the decision to share an elderly man's murder on social media for others to see as if it is some cool spectacle. A good man died and people want to go and make a mockery out of the situation by sharing the video. What if it were your loved family member or friend? Are you going to go share video footage to the world of their murder? It's just a really sad and disgusting thing for one to do and I hope all footage of that video are ceased or deleted and anyone who shares it gets their social media profile suspended or deleted. Have a damn heart, people. Be respectful to this man and his family. Sorry to rant, but I really needed to get that off of my chest today. I'll close this out by saying Rest In Peace Robert Godwin and I really hope the proper justice is served so your family can receive the proper closure they deserve. Until next week, I'm out!
