It’s one thing a lot of people refuse to take or accept. They will blame everyone under the sun and everything except themselves which is why some people never learn and never progress forward. My maturity has come from being able to take a long look at myself in the mirror and instead of being a “yes” man to my own ego, I provided myself with some brutally honest truths. I’ve made some mistakes in life… LOTS. And still make the occasional error here and there and there are always two routes I can take: the “feel sorry for myself” route and beat myself up over and over which results in absolutely nothing to change the past situation or move me forward in my current situation, or I can take the “you live and you learn” route, shake it off, evaluate where things went wrong and what I can do to better myself moving forward. Now of course it’s all easier said than done and being one who suffers from major depression and anxiety, I have my fair share of challenges, but that again is an area where I get the proper help to make sure that it doesn’t give me a reason to not make things happen. If you deal with the same things I do and don’t get help for it, you’re taking the “feel sorry for myself” route and you’ll never allow yourself to advance because you’re refusing to take accountability and are just continuing to put the blame elsewhere. Again, we all make mistakes or feel like we allow people to get the best of us, but as long as we’re still allowed to breathe, we’re always going to be able to make changes and improvements. We may not be able to change the past, but we can always change today to create the kind of outcome you ultimately want for you and your life.
