One Step Forward, Ten Steps Back...

I honestly didn't know what to write about for this week's blog up until today, Given all the things that are going on right now, especially with what Donald Trump is doing, I felt the need to get a few things off of my chest. I swear, I didn't want to write about anything to do with Trump or the things that are currently going on right now because I feel like it has been beaten into the ground enough already, but it is really hard to just sit back and keep my mouth shut about current events. I have disliked Trump and everything he has represented long before he even started running for President. By the time he started running for President, I, like a lot of people figured that the chances of him winning were slim to none so the other candidate he would be up against would have the election in the bag. Well, that would've probably happened had that candidate been Bernie Sanders, but instead that candidate turned out to be Hillary Clinton who basically handed the election to Trump. Not at all because she is a woman (I was really pulling for Jill Stein for President), but because her campaign was heavily flawed, poorly presented, and left people feeling like "what's the point of even voting? They are both terrible". Now, despite what many people will lead you to believe, Trump did not get elected because of racists and bigots. Afterall, if that were the case,. how in the hell would Obama get elected not once, but twice?! Plenty of ignorant, racist, and bigoted people voted for him, but also, a lot of people who would've normally supported the Democratic nominee didn't even turn up to vote or just played the game of "Russian roulette and went ahead and voted for Trump thinking that maybe it was just time for a change. I knew all along that the kind of change "trump wanted to bring was going to be one that would come with severe consequences. This is a man who ran a campaign full of racists, bigoted, derogatory, and sexist themes and quotes. You know, the funny thing about it though is the fact that, if you attempt to have a conversation with a lot of his supporters over the things he has said, they will not only defend it, but they will find nothing at all wrong with it. This guy sees illegal immigrants as criminals and Muslims as "terrorists". Now hey, I know there are some bad illegal immigrants and there are some Muslims who have bad intentions, but it's no different than the White people who go shooting up schools and churches, the Black people who sell drugs and commit murders (looking at you Chicago), the Mexicans who run notorious gangs, the Catholic priests who abuse and molest kids, and every other race, gender, and religion who has their share of bad apples. Hell, the majority of crime committed in America is caused by AMERICANS! Donald Trump, however, doesn't see it that way and wants to pin blame on a group or race of people in general. There really were times when I thought this country was taking the necessary steps to move forward, but now I feel like with Trump in office, were taking all the necessary steps to move backwards. He can kiss my ass inside and out because I will continue to look at everyone as equal and treat everyone with respect whether they are from here or not. I was planning on typing more, but as I keep typing, I just get more upset at how this guy is trying to bully and push his bigoted views and ideas upon everyone. Whatever, though, he can count me out. And on that note, until next week, I'm out. -Stat-
